Treatment-resistant glaucoma

Glaucoma not controlled by conventional therapy.

Overview

Glaucoma is a chronic eye condition that can cause progressive vision loss. When standard therapies (drops, laser or surgery) fail to control intraocular pressure adequately, Portuguese law recognizes medicinal cannabis as a possible therapeutic option, always coordinated with an ophthalmologist.

Common symptoms

  • Confirmed diagnosis of glaucoma
  • Inadequate control with standard treatments
  • Progressive visual field loss despite therapy

When to seek care urgently

  • Standard glaucoma treatments are not enough
  • Coordination with your ophthalmologist is needed

How we can help

The doctor will review your ophthalmology reports and current therapy and may prescribe medicinal cannabis when appropriate, in coordination with your ophthalmologist.
